- Tuesday, September 24, 2002
Currently at No. 19 on the CBA (Christian Booksellers Association) "Christian Clothbound Nonfiction Books" list, Courageous Leadership is the latest book penned by Bill Hybels, founder and senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill.
Since founding Willow Creek (one of the most attended churches in North America) 30 years ago, Hybels has amassed a wealth of information from the laboratory of his own triumphs and mistakes to know what it takes for spiritual leadership in the local church. In Courageous Leadership, he focuses on how to become a loving, effective leader with a kingdom focus with topics including "how to turn vision into action", "the three C's of building a dream team", "how to discern and develop your own leadership style", and "the art and importance of self-leadership."
Already, Publishers Weekly has said Courageous Leadership to be "written in an easy, colorful, anecdote-sprinkled style" and "full of wise principles, useful lists, and practical leadership tips. Through his other books…and through the Willow Creek Association, he influences thousands of congregations. So his voice on the subject of leadership commands immediate attention."
Hybels is the author of 17 books, including Rediscovering the Church and Fit to Be Tied (both co-authored with his wife Lynne), Too Busy Not to Pray, Becoming a Contagious Christian (with Mark Mittelberg), and The God You're Looking For.
