ROCKETOWN RECORDS GARNERS 11 GOSPEL MUSIC ASSOCIATION DOVE AWARD NOMINATIONS
New Artist Ginny Owens earns five nominations with her debut Rocketown Records release, WITHOUT CONDITION

(Franklin, TN) - At a press conference held today in Nashville, Tenn., Rocketown Records received 11 nominations for the Gospel Music Association's 31st Annual Dove Awards. New artist {{Ginny Owens}} earned five nominations with her debut Rocketown project, ==WITHOUT CONDITION==, which released in July 1999. {{Chris Rice}}, the GMA's 1999 Male Vocalist of the Year, was again nominated in that category.

Husband-and-wife duo {{Watermark}} (Nathan and Christy Nockels) received a nomination for New Artist of the Year.

Owens' five nominations included Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year as artist and songwriter for her #1 radio single, "Free", New Artist of the Year and Enhanced CD of the Year. Owens was also nominated for the A NIGHT IN ROCKETOWN project which received a nod for Special Event Album of the Year.

The ==A NIGHT IN ROCKETOWN== project served as the catalyst for last fall's nationwide tour, "A Night In Rocketown - The Acoustic Tour", which will continue this spring with 20 shows between March 20th-April 15th, 2000. The ==A NIGHT IN ROCKETOWN== record which features the entire Rocketown label roster, secured additional nominations for Watermark, Chris Rice and producer and Rocketown Records president, Don Donahue.

In addition to the 11 Rocketown Records nominations, producer Monroe Jones, who produced for Rocketown artists Chris Rice, Watermark and Ginny Owens, was recognized with a nomination for Producer of the Year.

The Rocketown Records label was founded in 1996 by singer/songwriter/producer and GMA's 1999 Artist of the Year {{Michael W. Smith}}, who also serves as the label chairman. Smith earned eight Dove Award nominations this year, including one for his participation on the A NIGHT IN ROCKETOWN project.
