Inheritance

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. - 1 Peter 1:3-5

People are hungry to know what Heaven is like. A popular TV celebrity conducts mass séances. Oriental mysticism has us transmigrating from one body to another until we are merged into the mass of deity. Muslims believe in seven heavens, full of carnal pleasures. Heaven was the “happy hunting grounds” for American Indians. I believe God intentionally revealed only a fraction of what Heaven is like. Otherwise, we’d all be looking for the fastest route there. The truth is our inheritance in Christ is more wonderful than the human mind can grasp. This inheritance is not subject to time, entropy or rust. God’s promise is that we get there on His terms, which can be summed up in a name—Jesus Christ.
