The Mouth Tells All

by Berni Dymet

Prov. 10:18-21 Lying lips conceal hatred, and whoever utters slander is a fool. When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but the prudent are restrained in speech. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the mind of the wicked is of little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of sense.

Some people are for real … and others, others are going to take us for a ride. With some people what you see is what you get. That's great! But with others, they're like a snake in the grass - ready to pounce when we least expect it.

So let me ask you this - how can we tell the difference between the two? When people are hiding who they really are, what their intentions really are - how can we know?

King Solomon told His lads to listen carefully to what other people say. People who gossip behind other people's backs, those are dangerous people. If they gossip about others, then they're sure to be gossiping about you and me.

And people who talk just too much telling everyone how good they are - they're the ones to watch out for.

I mean it's really sad that we have to look out for those sorts of people - but we do. It's God's Wisdom straight out of God's Word. Ultimately - these people show their true colors. The mouth … ends up telling all.
