Not Knowing When and Where in Life:
July 18, 2013
“The LORD of hosts has sworn, saying, “Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass, And as I have purposed, so it shall stand.” - Isaiah 14:24
Do you ever feel discouraged not knowing the when’s and where’s of your life? What job, what house, what school, and all of the other situations and questions that come into your life?
When God called Moses in the desert wilderness to lead the Hebrews, Moses lacked confidence; he couldn’t see what the future held. What do you think would have happened if God had unfolded the conflicts and demands Moses would encounter during the next forty years? He would not have obeyed God.
When God appointed David as King of Israel, he was a teenage shepherd boy, He did not tell him how King Saul would persecute him. Why? David would not have followed through.
Paul could not see that he would be thrown in jail, beaten, stoned, ship wrecked, and rejected by the Jews. He also could not see how God would use him to write most of the New Testament and be the instrument God used to spread the gospel throughout the world.
God has made us to face life one day at a time. In His goodness, He gives us grace and help for each day. Remember, God knows all. We are not to worry about tomorrow, but to only to abide in Christ today.
