Have You Been Mistreated

May 13, 2013

“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” - Genesis 50:20

Trusting God to use the circumstantial disappointments in life is difficult. Trusting God to work through people’s evil intentions is something else entirely. It is very hard when we don’t have the right perspective. When events such as betrayal occur, a wall of frustration clouds our relationship with God. We ask God, “Why didn’t you stop this? Didn’t you know this was going to happen?” In times like these, we need to focus on the principle stated so clearly by Joseph in Genesis 50:20, speaking to his brothers who had sold him into slavery years before.

Joseph remained faithful through the hardships, and it resulted in an entire nation being saved from starvation because God had brought Joseph from being a slave to being the Ruler of Egypt in thirteen years.  Have you been mistreated? Has your faith in God’s will for your life been shaken? Remember the principle, what people may intend for evil towards you, God can use for your good and His glory.
