What Is Eternal Life-Part 1

November 28, 2013

Jesus Christ said in John 14:6 - “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Eternal life is Christ Himself. He is the source of physical and eternal life; He alone can give eternal life and to believe in Christ means that we receive His eternal life.

In other words, eternal life is Christ, and for me to have eternal life is to receive Christ. Eternal life is to have Christ in my heart and to live with Him throughout all eternity! It is an everlasting union with Christ. We give over our human life to Him and He gives us spiritual life. He lives in us to save us, and we live by His power and are pleasing to Him as He sees us clothed with the righteousness of His Son Jesus. My friend, this is a union of faith and love and no one can break it.

The Apostle Paul explains it best in Romans 8:35-39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

My friend, nothing and no one, not even Satan or we ourselves, can separate us from Christ once we have received Him as our personal Savior. His love is everlasting love.
