Feelings of Inferiority

November 7, 2013

There is a certain problem which almost everyone faces at some point in their life. It’s the feeling that you are not as good as other people. It’s the feeling that you are a failure and a loser. What you’re experiencing in those moments, are “feelings of inferiority”.

These feelings come from accepting the wrong values of the world. The world puts it’s highest value on three things: physical attractiveness, intelligence, and money. God says, in I Samuel 16:7 - “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

You may ask, “What’s the answer to feelings of inferiority?” The answer, my friend, is to change your thinking. True wisdom is seeing things as God sees them and in order to change the way we feel about ourselves, we must change our thinking. We must see ourselves as God sees us. Jesus gave all He had, He gave himself, and that’s what we are worth in God’s eyes.

We must see too that God loves us and accepts us as we are. His love does not depend on what we are or what we have or what we do. Regardless, of whether you are a success or failure, regardless of what you may think about yourself, regardless of what other people may think about you, God says, “I LOVE YOU!”

My friend, you will be able to overcome the feelings of inferiority if you understand that accepting the values of the world, leads to those feelings, and that accepting God’s values, learned in His Holy Word, takes away the feelings of inferiority. Remember, Jesus died for you and Jesus died as you according to Galatians 2:20.  So, see yourself the way God sees you, perfect in Christ Jesus!
