Freedom From Worries

October 18, 2013

My friend, your Father in heaven loves you. He will take care of your needs. Trust in Him.

The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:6-7  – “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

When we think of the mighty hand of God we sometimes have a tendency to think of the mighty works of God we see in both the Old and New Testaments. The mighty hand of God might seem far removed from your personal worries. You may even wonder how God could possibly even notice you, much less care for you. He can, and He does my friend. God is everywhere, and our God is all knowing. Trust in Him. He is as interested in you as one individual on this globe we call earth as he is interested and personally involved in the major events we watch on world news each night.

Remember what Jesus, God’s Son, said in Matthew 6:31-34  - “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Let me encourage you to meditate on these words of the Lord Jesus. Let these words by the power of the Holy Spirit Who lives in you take away those worries in your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to renew your mind so you can enjoy what little of life you have left before God calls you to Himself and your eternal home in heaven.
