The Best Version - Tuesday, December 6th 2016

"Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma."
NKJV

Be the best you can be, as a gift to God, and as a gift to others.

What does that mean?

In context, in Ephesians, it means to be more loving and kind, to stop talking bad about other people, and encourage other believers. It also means something slightly different for each of us. If you attend the Bridge, it should encourage you to be a World Changer by serving, and a Bridge Builder or Kingdom Builder in giving. If you're already doing that, then take another step deeper. Instead of serving on a team, start to assist and then lead a team. Maybe volunteering for the Cross the Bridge call center team. For those already tithing, a gift or an offering to Cross the Bridge.

If you don't attend the Bridge, you are still a part of our faith family through radio, TV, email, or the internet, and there are still so many opportunities to do good things for God, at the Bridge or with Cross the Bridge. Pray for us daily. Tell others about Jesus and tell them about Cross the Bridge. Give financially each month and help us to keep going, to keep sending these emails, to send a team to flooded Lumberton, NC, to help us to do what we do.

So take the opportunity, today, to do something good, to pray, to give, to serve, to love, to step deeper into what God is doing. When you do, when you take the next step, God will be blessed, you will be blessed, and others will be blessed. Because friend, I don't know if you've noticed it, or not, but the world is a dark place.

It's time for you to shine!

Phil 2:14-15
14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
NKJV

Life Lesson: Be the best version of yourself, as a gift to:
1) God
2) Others
   a) believers
   b) unbelievers

Dear God,
Thank You for coming to this world and dying for us. Thank You for stepping into a world of darkness, and bringing Your light. You told us that You were the light of the world as long as You were in the world. Then You told us we are the light of the world! God, the world is a dark place. We need Your help and Your strength to be the lights You called us to be. Help us today to show it, to shine as Your people, bringing light to this dark world. Thank You for today. Thank You for this email. Thank You that it is time to shine! Help me to shine for You today. So help me God. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
Pastor David McGee
