Hiding? Friday, February 10th 2017

Psalm 10:1

Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide in times of trouble?
NKJV

In our limited perspective here on earth it seems as though the man or woman going with the flow of the system of the world is gaining ground. In the Hebrew the word for earth is always singular, indicating to us that our time on earth is limited. However, the word Heavens is often plural, indicating the eternal, infinite, unlimited blessing of God. The Lord in His love extends to us, His people, the power of His presence to build His kingdom and receive from Him the eternal blessings and nature of Christ in our lives.

Ps 10:17-18
17 Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, 18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, That the man of the earth may oppress no more.
NKJV

When we prepare our hearts to receive from God instead of hiding from Him when we hit a snag we place ourselves back into the place of the Lord's redeeming love and truth for our lives. Friend, when we 'feel' that the Lord is standing far off it's not because God has moved it's often because we went into hiding.

Ask yourself these mission critical questions. When was the last time you prayed? Who are you discipling? Who is discipling you? If you are unable to answer those questions chances are you haven't put yourself in the place the Lord has told you He will meet you. Make the change today. Run to the Lord in a committed prayer time. Run to the Lord in a committed time of devotions. Run to the Lord with other believers to be in fellowship at church. Be humble. Be prepared to seek Him, and trust that He will come through for you.

Life Lesson: We need to learn to run to God, to church and to other believers when we aren't doing so well, especially when God, or someone else, calls.

Lord,
Forgive me when I fail to run to You in prayer, in fellowship, and in Your word. Help me to not hide behind other things, but be continually committed to seeking You and allowing You to work through my life. Help me to realize that if I don't sense or see You that it's not You that has moved, but that it's often me hiding behind something else. Please give me Your grace to allow You to make the changes needed so that I'm continuing to prioritize You in all areas of my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Living to tell what He died to say,
