Refuse to Listen
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” – John 10:10
Being brave is not easy when it seems as though your own mind has turned against you. The negative voices in our minds seem to wage war against us daily. It’s time to take the step of putting on your brave by REFUSING to listen to the voices of doubt.
Knowing were the voices of doubt come from is key if you are going to silence them. Here are 3 voices to be aware of and how to silence them:
The voice of others: Refuse to listen to those that leave you feeling depleted and inadequate. Take a relational inventory and don’t spend time with people who cause you to doubt God’s love and purpose for your life.
Our own voice: Refuse to listen to the negative voice that causes you to question your God given abilities and purpose. Instead, take the advice of Lisa Young – “Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.”
The voice of the enemy: His only purpose is to steal, kill and destroy us. Be aware, but do NOT give him a foot hold. Know God’s truth and that Jesus came to give you life to the fullest because you are loved.
Ask God to silence the voices of doubt in your mind today. Ask Him to replace that doubt with the truth that He created you for a purpose and He loves you beyond measure.
Place evidence of God’s truth in prominent places to remind you of His love for you such as Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 139:1-18, Isaiah 41:10 or other scripture that you are encouraged by.
