The Beginning of Wisdom

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” -Proverbs 1:7

THINK
The list of fears people face is endless. We have a fear of everything from death to heights; from public speaking to snakes. Yet, how often is the fear of God on our list? And when it comes to the fear of God, how much do we truly know about it?

The Bible tells us that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” When we have a healthy fear of God, everything else falls into perspective. We begin to understand life the way it was designed to be lived, because we are in a position of humility before the One who created it. Do you have a healthy fear of the Lord? It starts with humbling yourself before Him.

PRAY
Thank God for who He is. Simply admit to Him your awe for His power in your life. And pray for a heart of humility so that you can learn to fear Him in a healthy way.

ACT
Find a creative way to post this following line on your social media accounts as a reminder of the importance of fearing God: We fear EVERYTHING but God; yet, we shouldn’t fear ANYTHING but God!
