You Are Enough

Café Menu for Friday, January 9, 2015

Today’s Special is: Seeing Me Through God’s Eyes

Carefully prepared just for you by your friend, Kelly Brown

Main Ingredient:

For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.

Deuteronomy 7:6 NLT

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.

Psalm 139:14 NLT

Entrée:

Do you ever stop and think how your perspective would be different if you saw yourself the way others see you, or even more importantly, the way God sees you?

Most of my life I have never felt quite enough; not pretty enough, not outspoken enough, not listened to enough, just not enough, always feeling less than adequate. But God has been speaking a lesson to my heart over and over that I am enough and I do have something to offer.

He made me in His likeness with gifts that He has given me and I should embrace them. Maybe I don't look the same or talk the same as another. Maybe I'm not as outgoing as some, but this is the way He made me. I was created to be just the way I am and there could never be a more beautiful me! I want to embrace it!

I still hesitate even writing this because the old insecurities pop into my head. But then He reminds me, I am a daughter of the King and He made me just the way I am. I want to learn to embrace that and use the gifts He's given me to be a better me. I am enough, perfectly orchestrated by a God who created me in His image.  He loves me just the way I am and I can love myself and be all that He created me to be!

I am thankful that I am beginning to see the real me through His eyes and through the eyes of others when I share the gifts He has given me. It's kind of like that "Dove" commercial where they have an artist draw women as he/she sees them and then they have that same artist draw them based on the verbal words the model tells them. It's quite different to say the least.

I know we are even more different in God's eyes. Learn to embrace the real you that others see and even more, embrace who you are in God.

Take Out:

When we realize we are enough and embrace who He made us to be, we can allow others to be who they were created to be. I challenge you today to embrace who you are in Christ and share your best you with others. In return, allow others to be the best they were created to be and they will know they are enough too! You are enough in God s eyes. See yourself through Him.

Dessert:

Dear Lord, I pray today that we will all see ourselves through Your eyes not for who we are, but for who we are through You. Thank You for the reminders that we are enough and that we were created in Your image and blessed with gifts to share with others. Thank You Jesus for Your unfailing love that continues to amaze me. It's in Your precious and holy name I pray Amen.
