A Servant's Heart Is Joyful

Play: Play the “ha” game. The first person starts out saying “ha.” The next person says “ha ha.” Play continues with each person adding one more “ha” than the last. (The game often ends with laughter.)

Talk: Saying ha isn't laughter, but saying ha enough times often leads to the real thing. In the same way, serving others isn't naturally fun, but when done with the right attitude, it is often rewarding and leads to real joy. Whether we are helping someone who needs help or doing chores at home, we can do these things with a servant's heart, modeling how Jesus served us (Philippians 2:4-7). What is the difference between serving with a good attitude and a bad attitude?

Pray: Ask God to help you serve others with a glad heart.
