Dog Food Deception
by Rick Boxx
April 2, 2010
Over $100,000 of merchandise was stolen from a Target store in Kansas City. Two employees worked together to steal many different products, including dog food.
According to The Kansas City Star, they began donating stolen supplies to a dog sanctuary, but eventually their theft turned into a profitable enterprise. By marking items as "defective" they were able to remove inventory without being caught, until another employee witnessed their crime.
Employers hope for loyalty and honesty from their employees, but that frequently is not the case. Jeremiah 17:9 teaches, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?"
If you're an employer who has been deceived by your staff, protect yourself, but don't be too discouraged. We are all just one step away from deceitfulness.
