A woman who called me for help was watching her husband make decisions counter to his faith, because he was having difficulty letting God into his business compartment.
Her pastor referred them to a Christian counselor. They were looking for biblical counsel, but there was never a hint of Godly advice. When she raised the issue, the counselor told them they needed to focus on more practical matters. They left disappointed.
Romans 12:2 teaches, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
If you're seeking God's will, look for counselors who have been transformed and are operating with a biblical worldview.
