Pleasing a Boss

When I was a commercial lender I had a client who began experiencing significant financial challenges. This client’s CFO felt pressured by his bosses to do whatever was necessary to keep the business going.
At first, he held checks in his drawer until cash would arrive, but as cash flow tightened he began an illegal “check kiting” scheme. Ultimately, the company went bankrupt and their CFO landed in jail.
When we try to please a boss, instead of fear God, we run the risk of sacrificing our integrity.
Ecclesiastes 8:13 teaches, “Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.”
If you’re feeling pressured by a boss, seek wise counsel and remember to obey God, your real boss.
