100 Years of Generosity
by Rick Boxx

Hallmark Cards celebrates its 100th year anniversary this year. The Kansas City Star provided readers a front page glimpse into the history of Hallmark Cards, and its founder Joyce Hall.
In our community, Hallmark is known as the model of civic generosity. Countless organizations have been assisted in performing community service through the generous efforts of both Hallmark Cards and the Hall Family Foundation.
Bill Hall, the leader of the Hall Family Foundation, made an interesting quote about Joyce Hall. He said, "Joyce Hall was generous, before he was profitable."
Psalm 112:5 teaches, "Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice."
Many of our best corporate citizens, whether they understand where it comes from or not, have come to realize the benefits of generosity.
