More Successful or More Loving
By: Rick Boxx

My pastor, Nathan, while teaching on 1 Corinthians 13, asked a troubling question, “Would you rather be more successful or more loving?”

In the Corinthians quest to show off their spiritual gifts the Corinthians ignored the important attribute of love. They appeared successful spiritually, but their actions weren’t very loving.

In business, the pursuit of success often trumps loving others. It’s easy to forget to pause and care for others when they’re hurting, due to other priorities.

1 Corinthians 13:2 teaches, “If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”

So as you tackle your workplace goals today ask yourself, “Would you rather be more successful, or more loving?”
