Competitive Integrity
June 23, 2011
By: Rick Boxx

My friend Cliff Jones, wrote in his book “Winning through Integrity” a story about his friend, Robert Ingram, who owned two radio stations. Mr. Ingram had a monopoly on classical music until a new competitor arrived.

One day a high wind blew over the transmitting tower of the rival station. Instead of waiting on his opponent to fail, Mr. Ingram sent his chief engineer over to get his competitor’s station up and running quickly.  When asked why he would do such a thing he simply replied, “I had what he needed to survive.”

James 2:8 teaches, “If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing right.’”

Will you do the right thing, even if it’s for a competitor?
