The Wisdom of Planning

When I began my banking career, the primary method for budding entrepreneurs to receive funding for their new ventures was bank financing. Banks typically required a business owner to develop a business plan in order to get a loan. Although it frustrated many, it did provide these entrepreneurs a motivation for developing a plan.
According to The Wall Street Journal, a survey conducted by the National Small Business Association revealed that in 2009, 59% of businesses used credit card financing for their organization. The use of credit cards has allowed many businesses to be started without a plan.
Proverbs 20:18 teaches, "Make plans by seeking advice; if you wage war, obtain guidance."
If you're starting a new business, or heading in a new direction, don't overlook the importance of wise counsel and planning.
