After completing college, my new employer gave me a week of testing and training. Then I met with a corporate psychologist to review my results. I pressured him to share what he intended to tell my boss.
Hesitantly, he said, “I’ll tell them that I’m not sure there’s enough money there to keep you. You are highly driven by money.”
Thirty years later, my friend, Dan, gave me a sales aptitudes test. In reviewing my results Dan said, “Rick, a good sales person is motivated by money, but you scored zero in that area.”
What changed? God revealed to me the truth of Proverbs 23:4-5, “Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone.”
