Phil is the CEO of a company that is funded by investors called venture capitalists. Most venture capitalists he’s encountered are singularly focused on increasing shareholder wealth, with little concern for customers and employees.

Phil, however, believes customers and employees are the secret to increased stockholder returns. He recently lobbied his investors to allow him to use some of the profit sharing incentives they had earmarked for executives, to be used for the entire staff instead.

Phil wanted to provide this benefit, because he believed it’s the right thing to do biblically. His investors agreed based on hopes of increased profits.

2 Timothy 2:6 teaches, “The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.”

An excellent organization looks out for the interests of all involved.
