Power from the Holy Spirit

1 Cor 2:12-13:  "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words" (NASU).

Parenting is a tough job, but we have the ultimate Helper to guide us.  When we became believers, we were filled with the source of parenting wisdom - the Holy Spirit.  When confronted with difficult decisions concerning choices, consequences or a lack of empathy, a mature Christian knows that turning to "the Spirit who is from God", rather than "the spirit of the world" yields the kind of response that is impossible under our own power.  When we turn to the Spirit before we turn to our children, we can speak with the wisdom of God, rather than "human wisdom".

There are no parenting guides more valuable than the Holy Spirit and prayer.
