1 Kings 19:1-18 Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword...
Elijah has just had the most incredible victory defeating the 450 prophets of Baal and announcing rain coming on the drought stricken land. He's seemingly invincible. But then, a death threat from king Ahab's wife Jezebel sends Elijah running scared, so much so that he even asks God to end his life. So how did God respond? Like a loving Father. What a beautiful picture of compassion and care as He walked with and sustained Elijah through this difficult situation.
So what does this passage tell you about how much God understands your thoughts and feeling? What about how much He loves and cares for you? And finally, what does it reveal about God's willingness to meet you wherever you're at? Tami
