Doing Some Work!

today's reading.
James 1:21-25; 2:14-18    Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls...

the blog.
Yes! Bring it on. Preach it, James! was going through my mind as I read our two passages for today. You see, I'm a "doer" in lots of areas. I find it hard to simply sit around and not be doing something. So James' charge to put God's Word into action really resonated with me. Now there are tons of ways we can be doers of godly work--helping a neighbor with yard work, getting involved with Vacation Bible School, serving at a local Food Shelter, playing "taxi" for others as needed, sending a thank you note to your pastor or a card to encourage someone who's sick--the list could go on and on.

So take some time today and consider where you can do some godly work. Think about different things going on and who you know that might need some encouragement or help. Then, get to work! Also, let us know how you're going to "be a doer of the word" this week. Or, give us a boost by telling us about some work you're already doing. Tami
