Today's reading: 2 Peter 3:1-13
The fact that my thoughts and perceptions of time are different than God's is a difficult thing for me to fully understand. So often I want and expect something to happen in a certain time frame (that seems absolutely reasonable to me, by the way), and then when God doesn't move within that timeframe, I get frustrated which can then lead me down the slippery slope of questioning and doubting God. So I was thankful for Peter’s reminder "that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day" (vs. 8), because it gave me a needed perspective adjustment this morning as I am waiting for God to move in a couple of areas.
How does knowing that God's timing is different than yours impact you when it comes to patience and persistence? What helps you keep the right perspective and attitude when something isn't happening at the pace you expected? Tami
