But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

--James 2:18-20

Unfortunately, some people have less faith than the devil. You see, the devil is not agnostic or atheist. As a matter of fact, if we were to ask the devil a series of questions about God, He could probably rattle them off faster and better than any of us!

But if we were to ask him to confess Jesus as Lord and Master of his life, he’d slink out the side door because the devil will never repent. His destiny is sealed. When his demons hear the name of Christ, their hair stands on end and their skin starts to crawl. They know the majesty of our Jehovah God! Even the demons in the Gospels of the Bible confessed Jesus as the Son of God!

They still believe and tremble! But they don’t know the life-changing, liberating joy of confessing and following Jesus as their Savior and Lord. In the Bible, James basically said, “Real faith is not what I say. It is not what I feel. It’s not what I think. Instead, it is what I do!” Don’t ever count on past experiences or emotional encounters to substitute for living faith given to us by Jesus Christ.

You may call yourself a Christian today, but still feel as though something is missing. Maybe you went down the aisle when you were a kid with friends, or grew up in a Christian home, but have never experienced the living faith that is offered to you. If you are missing a living faith in your life, pray that God would come alive in your heart and soul and take control.

REAL FAITH IS NOT EMOTIONAL, IT’S FACTUAL.
