Power Point - July 4, 2006

July 4, 2006

…The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates are destroyed by fire.

--Nehemiah 1:3

Walls were the single most important part of an ancient city. In the unstable times of the Bible, city walls provided protection from invaders and foreign attackers, as well as a means of easily moving people and goods in or out of the city.

On this special day when we celebrate our country’s independence, we’re reminded of times when it seemed the walls of America were battered and burned. But just as He did Nehemiah in Jerusalem, God provided great people to come to America’s defense and to rebuild our country.

Most of the time, rebuilding something is far more difficult than just starting over. This fact didn’t keep Nehemiah from doing the work God called him to do. Aren’t you thankful our founding fathers were godly leaders who didn’t shy away from doing what was right?

Take time today to not only celebrate America’s freedom, but also the people who stood for the right and true things that God had called them to. I pray today will be a wonderful day as we celebrate God’s faithfulness to us and our country!

THANK GOD TODAY FOR HIS FAITHFULNESS TO AMERICA!
