Exposed Sooner or Later | 1 Timothy 5:24

1 Timothy 5:24 The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them.

You are living with secret sins and getting by with it. No one else knows. You are hiding it well. What pleasure they bring! However, you’re not as clever as you think.

Our passage today reminds us that all sins surface. Some are so obvious they are revealed in real time. Others come to light after the fact, but all sins are exposed sooner or later. Secret sins always come to light. “You may be sure that your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23).

Driving around with secret sins in the passenger seat always makes for a dangerous journey. They are distracting partners that will take your attention from the road. Sooner or later you’ll end up in a spiritual ditch. Kick them out of the car! Surrender your secret sins to God. He will forgive, restore and satisfy. Let him take over the steering wheel. He will always keep you on the right road.

Father, bring conviction to all living with secret sins. Thank you for your promise that when we confess our sins you will forgive us, cleanse us and restore us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
