What Life Do I Want?
Philippians 2:15

Philippians 2:15So, it has all come down to this. You put on your best suite and then you throw a very hot robe on top of it and then someone puts a strange-looking hat on your head.

But you love it, because it means that you're joining some of your best friends and you're walking down that aisle.

All the studying. All the consultations with teachers. All the parental nagging about homework and grades.

You're walking away from one season of life, high-school, where teachers, parents, youth pastors, grandparents, coaches, and principals all hovered over you. Now you're stepping into real life and ahead of you on the horizon are college, a career, and maybe down the road, marriage and family.

But ultimately what is before you is your life. And the question only you can answer is this: What will be your life? What kind of life do you want to live?

I've found that there are really five basic questions that determine where you are going in life.

What do I believe and why?

What guides the choices I make?

What direction am I headed?

Can I stay true in a world of lies?

Is it possible to find joy when life gets hard?

You're answers to those five questions reveal a lot about just what kind of life you will have. I've written about them extensively in my latest book, Crash Course, Forming a Faith Foundation for Life. This book is a 100-day, summer long cram session on the five key areas of life.

I believe God has a purpose for each young person who walks down the aisle. Because the Gospel didn't just save you from Hell and it didn't just give you the Holy Spirit to live inside of you and empower you to live supernaturally, and it didn't just allow you to communicate with God—the Gospel also restored you to your original, God-ordained purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 says that you were created, designed, formed for "good works." So I encourage you to settle those fives questions and grab a hold of God's unique purpose for you're life. Make a difference in your generation.
