2 Corinthians 3:5-18

Our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life…Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

There is enormous freedom in allowing God to do the changing of our inner lives!

There is a way of living the Christian life that is “of the letter”. But that way of living “kills” your vitality and joy. That way of living insists that the Christian life is defined by performing to a set of Christian expectations. God is not in that approach to life.

“The Spirit gives life…and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”Why? Because life ceases to be an attempt to meet up to expectations and becomes a joyful journey with your dearest friend. Yes, this way of life still involves Christlikeness. But the Christlikeness flows from what God is doing to transform your inner life as you develop your relationship with Him.

What can you do today to deepen your relationship with Jesus?
