Time with God - July 12, 2010

Monday 12th July

1 Samuel 2:30

Therefore the LORD God of Israel declares, ‘I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father should walk before Me forever'; but now the LORD declares, ‘Far be it from Me—for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me will be lightly esteemed.'

God will honor those who honor Him!

This is the gracious heart of God. No matter who you are or how far from God you have been walking, God is ready to bless you if you will put Him first in your life.

Our hearts are so foolish. Even when we have been walking with God and tasting His blessing on our lives, still we so easily turn from Him and put ourselves first, honoring ourselves instead of Him. If you find yourself wandering away from God today, remember the blessing in your life when you were walking with Him. His nearness in your heart, a sense of peace and rightness about your life, His voice speaking to you through His word, Him working through you in the lives of others.

Even though you have not been honoring Him, if you will turn away from those things you have been chasing, and put God first again, you will begin to experience His promise again—"those who honor Me I will honor".

What would need to change for you to honor God with your life?
