For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
If you have chosen to trust in what God has done for you at the cross, taking the penalty for your sins and offering you forgiveness, then you have eternal life!
Notice the promise of this verse. It does not say that whoever believes in Him shall have life until they sin badly. No, it says that if you believe in Him, you have eternal life. This new kind of life God gives you has both quantity and quality. This new life is eternal, meaning it never ends. You will live forever with God. Death is not final. On the contrary, death is a doorway that ushers us into a beautiful and more glorious life with God forever.
And this eternal life is also a different quality of life; it is God's life in you. God is at work in your inner life to make you more like Jesus Christ. The more you allow God to lead and direct your life, the more you experience of His beautiful life flowing from your innermost being.
God is reminding you today of the vastness of what He has given you in Christ, and He is inviting you to trust His love for you and allow Him to lead and direct your life.
