Proverbs 24:11-12

Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, “See, we did not know this,” does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?

Don’t avoid the reality that those around you are facing a terrible eternity of God’s judgment—get involved in sharing Christ with them!

God has made it so plain that every person has offended His justice and His person and faces an eternity of His judgment and His anger. When Jesus’ love moved Him to go to the cross for us, Jesus’ death satisfies both God’s justice and His anger. That means that when a person turns to God with faith in Jesus, their guilt and offence is removed.

But people all around us do not understand what has been done for them. They are blindly walking toward the cliff-edge. Who do you know who is like that? They need to be held back, to be warned, to be told about the love of God expressed in Jesus Christ.

Do you see God’s heart in today’s passage? What will He say to us who know His love if we do not share it with those still in danger? Ask God to give you the words they need to hear.
