Time with God - Sept. 16, 2010

Thursday 16th September

Colossians 1:16

For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

You have been created for Jesus Christ!

Something that has been created and carefully crafted by someone belongs to that person who crafted it. He can use it in whatever place and whatever way he wants. When other people look at the thing and comment on how beautiful it is, they honor the person who made it.

In the same way, you have been created by Jesus Christ and FOR HIM. He is your reason for existing. He is the meaning of life! Your life is for Him.

This is not some gruesome purpose; it is not a meaningless existence. No, He does not want you to be His slave, but His friend, walking through life in step with Him and working with Him to accomplish His purposes in the lives of the people He has placed you with.

It was not our right or privilege to walk with Jesus in this way. We used to be estranged from God. But God reached into our lives and drew us to Himself. He pursued our hearts. He suffered unbelievably to make a way for us to be able to fulfil our purpose in life: to live for Him and with Him.
