The Two Shall Become One, Part Two

Post by Karistansis

Dr. Beck,

Your argument overall is lacking. Please, elaborate. It would seem more complete if you used an argument other than 'God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.'

I find your gross oversight regarding the movie "Altered States" puzzling. The professor that ceased to be human did so because of his experimentation with psychotropic drugs from Mexico that ended up altering his DNA. Solitary confinement and the lack of contact with other humans had nothing to do with it.

The Two Shall Become One, Part One

Dr. Beck,

Throughout history the bible has been used to justify injustices. Slavery, segregation, and marital rape to name a few. I hope your god can give you the strength to recognize that there is no reason to prevent two loving, monogamous partners from being afforded the same rights as everyone else.

As for god's command to 'be fruitful and multiply,' I don't think the human population is in any way being threatened. While biologically, same-sex couples can not reproduce, they can still adopt, or conceive other ways. Is the infertile heterosexual couple not afforded the right to marriage? What about post-menopausal women, are the men to plant seeds elsewhere? Your argument has so many holes I don't know where to begin.

As Americans we not only have freedom of religion, but freedom from religion, I am faithful that the citizens of Maine will demonstrate this with a vote in favor of same sex marriage.
