What great advice. This is some of the same advice I gave to seniors when asked what advice I would give. A lot of people gave flippant advice, but this is exactly what I told them.

People think that our family is backwards because we don't own the latest and greatest. However, I know that we are content and that we can function, even in the midst of financial crisis because this is the way that we have always lived. We do own a home, however it is not the biggest or the best. But it is what we could afford at the time and now our payments are going down as we don't have to pay PMI anymore and as we make our payments consistently and have a good payment history. I have no desire to sell and move or to owe money on a car. Have never had a car payment and never will. If I cannot afford to buy one, I will walk.

Crosswalk.com does it again! This is another great article! As a former financial company manager (and now a stay-at-home mom), I must say that this article is a powerful statement in what we, as Christians, should strive for. The advice that Christ gave us, in the long run, is what brings us peace and happiness in Him.
