One day, the office klutz walked in with bandages over both his ears. It was common for him to have nicks and scratches (as a matter of fact, it was uncommon for him not to have at least one bandage somewhere on his hands), but this was more than usual.
The boss turned to him and said, "Bad day, Simmons? What happened?"
"Yes, a very bad day. I was ironing my shirt, when the phone rang. I had to iron the phone, I mean answer the iron... You know what I mean."
"Yes, certainly. I can understand doing that. But I see bandages on both of your ears."
"I had to call the hospital, didn't I?"
