Homeschooling Parents: Well-Meaning Amateurs?

I am a teacher, I work with Special Ed. students, however, all 6 of my grandchildren are home schooled; I give my adult children a big applause for sacrificing their time to such a God honoring task. I see the innocence in my two young teen grandchildren and what a godly difference in them verses the others their age in the school system where I am employed. Both my adult children have degrees and could be putting their talents into making money for the families but they choose not to have more material things so that their children will be both spiritually and mentally sound. Yes I get a lot of guff from my peers but they can't disprove the testings of my grandchildren against any student that they service. They are members of a home-school coop and what an opportunity to have their own private schooling at very little cost! Way to go girls, I comment all who home school. I retire in a year and hope to be a support for the homeschoolers. May God give you wisdom and direction.

This is the most well-written defense for homeschooling that I have ever read. Copies of it should be made available at all homeschool conventions as an aid for first-time homeschoolers attempting to explain their 'credentials' to inquisitive friends and family members. Thanks for sharing this encouragement.
