That other lady may be doing what she feels called to do, too. She may be envious of you, believe it or not but she may see her decision not to have kids as a sacrifice. She may feel called to investigative journalism, or for me, working with kids in the school system but not wanting my own. So you might have thought that of me if you saw me walking in a grocery store (but I don't get my nails done and I drive a 98 Toyota Tacoma rather than a beamer). But just because I don't have kids and because I did go to that college, and graduate school, I do not think necessarily makes me selfish. I spend large parts of my day being ignored by kids I work with due to their disabilities, they may not even smile once, during a whole session! So, we women without kids sometimes envy your cute little ones too, but we also may feel called to what we are doing. We would never dream of telling you that what you are doing is selfish and/or unimportant. We career women want those same accolades.
