I'm impressed! Couples staying in sync is definitely where it's at. Having walked in some of the same steps described by the author, I know what I'm talking about. Being real...with one another and with everyone else...is a huge plus. It's not a bad thing for others to know that my husband and I have been arguing and may not see eye to eye just yet. That doesn't mean they have to know the details. It just means others get to see that we are like most folk...we have our share of problems; we work thru them; we solve them. And I particularly agree with the "putting our guests first without forgetting each other" concept. I agree with it wholeheartedly! I don't really think that I could improve on what the author had to say about that.

Just wanted to point out to the previous commenter, that having a drink with your husband does not necessarily mean you are drinking an "adult" beverage. You could be drinking a glass of iced tea or sharing a cup of coffee, or having a coke. There is no need to take offense to what was written.

I do like what this article has to say though. Connecting with your spouse and not living behind a mask when in front of others is key. Very practical suggestions.

I read the article, but I was a bit taken back by the advice of having a drink before guest came.... I guess it offended me as I am a non drinking Christian and think that "a drink" could lead to another drink and another and another... Believing the Bible as I do, I do not see where drinking could ever help a marriage.
