Great Question. As for myself, when I became saved, I decided to forgive my spouse for his adultery and sat down and revealed to him some things that I had done and was not proud of while we were dating (I dated 2 other guys) and ask him for forgiveness. Keep in mind that at the time these things ocurred, both of us were not in a serious relationship, and were also not living as Christians. I I thought that he would be able to look past and forgive these actions being that I came to him with a sincere and open attitude. Initially, he was angry and then he told me that he would forgive and we agreed on telling eachother everything from now on, NO SECRETS. Well, to my surprise, this was the worst thing that I could have ever done, because now he brings it up and we find ourselves constantly arguing about the past. My argument is that, although I did commit these actions, we were not married nor engaged. I feel that he is in no place to judge me for this the way he has.
