Well I'll summarize my feelings rather simply. It sounds like an excuse to do whatever you want. Its typical with the godless sort. "To each his own way." "Its not my fault its society, my parents, (insert whinny excuse here)." Take responsibility for what you do you fucking weaklings. When I sin I admit Im wrong and horrible for what I have done. These guys dont even want to do that. What hope is there for them? Screw em.

Poetim27 I must,on the basis of God's word which is the ultimate authority on everything disagree stronly with your statements regardint Evilution (evolution).Darwinism and evolution has no place in science, and are not based on fact.I suggest that you see the movies "Expelled" and "A Case for A Creator" to see where evolution comes from, what it does, and where it is going. The poison of evolution has seeped into every area of science and has corrupted and highjacked it.Anyone calling himself a Christian can only do so when Christ and His doctrine is put in it's proper place in their lives, that being first and foremost.evolution theory is the recruiting and military arm of atheism, and ultimately compels those who believe and propogate it to pursue the destruction of mankind. Please pray about accepting any of wickedness, which is in reality driven by the spirit of this age into your heart and mind, it is antiChrist.

Interesting article, interesting feedback. I'm all for bringing science into the faith arena. God created everything, including genes, so all that exists serves to prove the truth of God's word. The bible exists to prove that humans are helpless in their own ability to overcome the power of the sin nature we inherited from Adam and Eve. Whether it be genetic or our own free will, we have sin permeating through our natural instincts. Our only hope to overcome this is our faith that the risen Christ gives us freedom from our bonds to the human nature. Believers and followers of Christ have the power available to them to be transformed into the image of God, the spiritual nature he created us to have. Those genetically disposed to be unfaithful in marriage have the same power to overcome their weakness as those whose weakness is derived from abuse or a disfunctional upbringing. God has the power to deliver us from sin, whatever the root, whether genetic or will.

Also, if people decide to use genetics or any other reason to excuse they're bad behavior, that's on them. This article won't change the person they are, it will just give them one more thing to quote. I was an abused child. I know from psychologists that this makes me more prone to abuse my children. I don't think this is an excuse to abuse my offspring. Rather I know and understand this truth, and that will help me in the long run avoid the problem so many people with my background have. Knowing I'm predisposed to something, I believe, is very helpful to avoid that very behavior. Same thing for alcoholism. I'm genetically predispositioned to be an alcoholic. I don't use this as an excuse to get plastered weekly. Instead, I completely avoid the stuff.

If we're going to attack research, we should at least make some kind of valid argument against it. I'm sorry you don't agree with this scientists findings, or even his decision to conduct his research in the first place. I'm sure he/she/they weren't trying to offend you. They noticed something that made them scratch their heads & wonder about something so they decided to do an experiment. They then posted the results of that experiment.

The fact that we are genetically very close to rodents isn't insulting, it's highly useful. Rats, mice, etc., reach maturity very quickly (3-5 months for house mice to be fully grown as opposed to mid-20's for the average human). This allows us to see how different things affect them through their generations very quickly. And very often, what's applicable in a mouse works quite similarly in a human.

Instead of being offended by evolutionary biology, why not look at it as a God given tool? We literally use this to cure cancer(and other diseases).

I appreciate the writers attempt to balance this so called "New Scientific Discovery" by pointing out that doing the "right thing" does not come naturally, nor easily. By the way, since when did any of these scientific discoveries ever cast The Word Of God in a favorable light? Science has become by nature mans best attempt to exclude God and the relevence of His Word from our lives. My concern with bringing this information into the arena of Christian discussion is this, what do we do when some ding bat states that they have discovered a gene relating to homosexuality,a predisposition to commit murder or any other deviant behaviour? The word clearly states that all deviant behavior and sin is directly related to the fallen nature of man which we inherited from our forefather Adam. Either we take God at His word and address our own individual deviations from God's prescribed law, or we continue to find some excuse for our continued rebelion as Adam did.
