Good article, but I especially appreciate the input from Tru4J, very helpful reminder of the power of prayer; thanks!

It's Tru4J again. I apologize for the tone of yesterday's email, asking where Jesus was in the article. I went to Corinthians and inserted MY name in the "love is kind" verse, and ask forgiveness. I still do make the same point. I was going to send the article to a Christian with this type of husband, but stopped when there was no mention of Jesus and His healing. As a prayer counselor, I HAVE seen that Jesus heals marriages through Scripture, "transforming through the renewing of minds through Jesus." "Techniques" do work, but only when spouses have Christ as the center of their individual lives and their marriages. Dr. Hawkins, please highlight biblical solutions in these articles, especially on Christian web sites, letting God change the hearts. Then give tips on changing behaviors. I wasn't even sure you were a Christian from your bio. With the level of attack on Christian marriages, we can not be "spiritually detached" from the truth of "Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed.

This is a Christian web site, right?

So where is Jesus in the solution? Where is reading Scripture together? Where is praying FOR each other? Where is praying WITH each other? Where is having a prayer team pray WITH AND FOR you?

GOD is the one Who can change the other person's heart, and here's YOUR role - Pray 1 Corinthians 13:4-14, 3X in a row. First time, just as they appear in the Bible. Second time - Insert your spouse's name in each verse, - "Love is kind" becomes "Spouse (Fred) is kind." Third time, insert YOU, YOUR name into every verse. That verse becomes "I (Jane) am kind."

Start small but FULL of belief - a verse a day, 1X day. Build up to the entire passage 1X day, then 2X a day. THEN add Colossians 3:10-17. THEN, to know God will restore your marriage THROUGH THE POWER OF JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT, read Philippians 4:4-8. Then, ask your spouse to pray all this WITH you. I will be the 1st member of your prayer team! tigemailbox-jcbiz@yahoo.com.
