Wow, the Lord is really trying to teach me how to 1) submit myself to Him and 2) how to love my wife as He loves the church (who should be submitting to Him.) The funny thing about God teaching me this lesson is that I am not married. He's using some very trying circumstances to teach me how He loves me and how I should love my future bride. I actually came to crosswalk today in order to look up the word "church" in Ephesians 5 in the Greek, and then I saw this article and I thought "What are the odds of that?" This article is confirmation that I have been hearing from the Lord.

I do admire men that love their wives in a time of great trial, and hardship. It is a pity that so many men have the red neck, self serving application of "wives submit to your husband". Let us not forget though, that loving your wife unconditionally more often than not is also being there for her every day in the daily uneventful grind of life. The smile, the hug, the playful wink, the drying of the dishes, the putting away of the toothpaste, and the bringing her the coffee Saturday morning. Let us remember that the daily grind is sometimes a greater revealer of true character, than the call on a man in a heart wrenching crisis. Not to detract from the man mentioned in the article.
