God knew how widespread and tough the opposition was and so He promised to make Jeremiah "a fortified city and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze against the whole land . . . the kings of Judah . . . its princes . . . its priests and . . . the people" (1:18). And He promised too (I love this one!) "They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you to deliver you" (v. 19).

We're not only outnumbered today, beloved; we're also outranked. Some of our nation's highest-ranking leaders have defied the Lord and defiled His holy covenants of life and marriage. God will not tolerate this for long! We're weakening against strong nations.
