I can understand the secular press not giving this a positive review, but a Christian site? I mean come on. The movie was very well done IMO considering the resources involved in making it, Kirk portrayed his role very well, and most importantly the message of Salvation was presented in a very easy to understand format. My wife and I enjoyed it tremendously.

I cant remember the last time I saw someone being saved at the movies, but hey, that's not really important now is it? In the end its really about how much money we can make or how much movie magic and "spark" we can generate.

Looking at your review of "Ghost Town", which you claim is "worth a visit". Lets just forget the Drugs/Alcohol, Language/Profanity, and Sex/Nudity you wrote about. Definitely want to check that hot ticket out instead of a wholesome Christian movie about preserving the sanctity of marriage.

Needless to say I'm less than impressed with this sites movie reviews ....

It seems that this writer/reviewer is more interested and more enthusiastic about the worldly, ungodly and profane movies he watches and reviews rather than this excellent film.

Sure, if we use wordly standards and 100 million dollar budgets as our comparison what Christian film could ever compete, but if we are using the holiness of God, his written word as a backdrop this movie should get a higher rating than any other worldy film.

I continue to be very disapointed in this review as well as others on crosswalk.com for their lack of desire for the Holiness of the Lord God almighty in their reviews.

I guess you will continue to give decent reveiws on the trash movies that are on this site while not warning the Christian who truly desires to walk in holiness to stay far away from a film where even the Lord's name is used in vain as that is my Lord and my savior!

Let's start using the word of God as a standard for our reviews and not budgets.

CH - You need to get your facts straight. 'Facing the Giants' was made with a $100,000 budget, not a million dollar one. I would expect that sort of mistake from the secular press, but not here.

I just say Fireproof last night and WoW!! I LOVED IT!!! It was one of the best movies I’ve ever seen!!!! The message you leave the theater with is so great!!! It was better than any marriage sermon I've ever heard!! I laughed throughout the film, I loved all the action scenes, all the acting was fantastic, and don’t tell anyone, but I even got a little misty a few times. And the fact that the movie doubled as evangelistic with a great gospel presentation nearly made me swoon. This movie was simply incredible!!!

I loved the movie Fireproof. I thought it showed how we make mistakes, but if we turn to God, He will do a work in a marriage. I didn't understand why the reviewer gave it a negative review. I enjoyed it very much. I thought the acting was fine. The message was great. I would recommend to everyone.

I disagree with the reviewer, "Christian Hamaker", (CH). I wonder if CH is married, how long and what trials God has brought him through.

My wife and I saw it on Friday night. Personally it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. I identified with the characters. Though there were times I could see where the plot was going in a soon coming scene, I found there were also twists to the sobplots that I didn't expect.
I wish that I had had a father to walk in the woods with. I wish that I had Christianity in my family prior to marriage and becoming a father.

Paul speaks of the mystery of the Church and compares it to marriage. This movie drives that point home in unexpected ways. God has called us to the wedding feast in ways we cannot understand and/or sometimes percieve. We have consistently rejected Him. The presentation of the Gospel message was perfectly dovetailed into the script. I thouroughly enjoyed the movie and have recommended it repeatedly already.

I'm really disappointed to see such a negative review of a Christian movie on a Christian website. I'm not sure I understand why Crosswalk.com would have an article that warned against religious content of a movie.

In my humble opinion, Fireproof was a fantastic movie with a great message. No, it didn't have Brad Pitt or Jennifer Anniston. No, it didn't have blood and guts at every turn. I do have to say, though, that both the acting and the storyline were better than some movies that were nominated for academy awards--movies that I was thankful not to have paid to go see.

I have encouraged many people to go see Fireproof and will continue to do so. There is no profanity, no nudity, no sex, no violence, and, definitely a happy ending. Give the movie a chance.

We thought the movie was Great! Mainly the story we thought was the best and felt that Kirk did a really good job in the movie. I think people can relate to things in the movie, because it is reality for many marriages. A few actors in the movie were not the best, but even Hollywood has some highly paid not so good actors. Honestly, we really thought it was great, the audience appeared to like it as well for they all clapped at the end and the theater was close to full. The first two rows were the only empty rows.

This is a movie worth seeing in my opinion!

My wife and I saw and enjoyed Fireproof last night with our children and friends. We found the movie to be a refreshing perspective on resolving a broken marriage. Christian Hamaker's comments regarding the movie's "predictability and the less than convincing portrayal" of Celeb by Kirk Cameron missed the point in our opinion. We applaud the Kendrick brothers resolve and courage in producing a film that offers viewers the truth of the gospel perspective to a subject that has desensitized the world. We applaud their reality approach to the cancer of pornography. This movie superbly demonstrates how submission to Christ's love is the only avenue for true personal peace. We think it unfortunate that Christian H. is seemly more concerned with being noticed as an unbiased critic to the point of ignoring a job very well done by writers, directors and actors. We are grateful for the obvious amount of prayer and obedience to the Holy Spirit that had to take place in producing this movie.

I just wonder what the reviewer had in mind when speaking so discouraging about this film. I am so disappointed that this reviewer wants to major on the minor. The major point of the film is to comment on marriage and show how it can rise from the dead. In this article, it never says whether or not the purpose of the movie is achieved, and the reviewer knows what it was. This is a Christian movie and I hope the reviewer is a Christian; that should influence your review. Okay, it's an episode from 7th heaven: did it achieve it's purpose or not? Ok, reviewer, you were bored. Will some married couples, whose marriages are teetering, change course and renew their marriage covenants after watching this movie? Or are you, reviewer, doing your best to make sure couples don't even go to see it, and experience this reawakening in their marriages? If the movie does its job, there will be more "spark" in their marriages--and that's where the "spark" should be!
