"Finally, the character of Jack (Sebastian Stan), who represents the biblical Jonathan, is hinted to be gay. “I thought it made the best conflict, the best story,” explained Michael Green at a recent press event. Jack’s storyline is not the focus of the pilot, nor does it involve David, but for many who love and are inspired by the dear friendship between David and Jonathan in the Bible, this particular change may come as a shock."

Calling this part of the episode a shock would be an understatement for me. I really enjoyed the show and felt like it kept to the Biblical version until it was revealed that Jack was gay. I don't understand how this made the best conflict or storyline and for whom was it written. It certainly wasn't for the Christians who know the true story and could be offended at the twist of the plot. I really hope that the rest of the season proves to be closer to the truth; it has enough action and conflict without any help from Hollywood.
